About the Role

You will initially focus on appraising and improving the existing suite of financial models and consolidated forecasts and assumptions related to project screening, development, financing and operation of multiple solar and storage assets. The models will form the basis of materials presented to individual and institutional equity / debt funders and used for management reporting. You should be able to assess, analyse and present information at all levels and to multiple stakeholders in a logical and structured way.

Further modelling and analysis will be required in relation to the designing of new investment structures, vetting new project opportunities, and working with various banks/funds. Analysis and due diligence of PPA contracts and route to market for solar and battery projects will be required with a background in energy trading markets viewed favourably.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work with the development and commercial teams to build complex project financial models to evaluate the economics of potential projects, and present to senior leadership.
  • Business analytics relating to project progress reporting and dashboarding
  • Support due diligence on new transactions, valuations and project screening
  • Work closely with our IT team to facilitate complex financial data analyses and the creation of financial reports through the integration of data between our various project and accounting systems to promote efficient and robust reporting and automation of analysis.
  • Support the development team with project finance transactions.
  • Prepare financial reporting, dashboarding and presentations to the Board, Investors and financial institutions.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree educated with 10+ years of finance experience (investment banking, project finance, or financial modelling experience) with at least 5+ years in the UK renewables sector with relevant experience in modelling, financial forecasting and presentation
  • Working to a relevant financial modelling standard
  • Accounting principles applied to 3-way profile forecasting, scenario analysis, dashboarding
  • Meticulous verbal and written presentation skills and confident communicator to board and investors, turning complex data into visually clear diagrams using Power BI / Tableux, PowerPoint
  • Strong aptitude to learn complex concepts (tax rules, energy policy, financial structures, etc)
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
  • Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment
  • A natural ability, experience and inquisitiveness with advanced mathematics and predictive algorithms will be the desirable
  • Working well in a team
